supportive comfortable shoes

My feet are shaped like a duck’s, wide at the toes and narrow at the heel. I have one high arch and one flat. One foot with bunions and the other without. I need supportive shoes that can accommodate every type of foot. These shoes are light, have a wide toe box and medium heal. Light socks or no socks are best. They look cute on and go with everything casual.. I also have other Taos shoes and these are the best fit out of all of them mainly because you can adjust the instep around the arch and over the foot. I bought a second pair for when this one wears out.

The Best As Always!

So lightweight, cute and super comfy with the signature top-notch arch support. Served me well for 3 days in the parks at Disneyland! First tried Taos a number of years ago when dealing with plantar fasciitis. I now have 7 or 8 pairs of sandals and sneakers. Insoles are so good, there is no need to switch them out for Superfeet which I still use with other brands of sneakers. But Taos! Size up a half size. Your feet will be happy!

Second pair of Taos

So cute and ultra comfortable! I suffer on and off from plantar fasciitis and these shoes have the support I need. I will definitely order from them again. I bought a pair of Taos slippers for support in the house so I knew I wanted some shoes to wear in the yard that have good arch support. I normally wear a 7 but I have a wide toe box, so based on reviews ordered 7.5. They fit perfectly.

Light and Supportive

After reading the reviews I opted to go a 1/2 size larger than my normal size and they fit perfect! I also got a pair of the Winner in my regular size and they fit perfect. So these definitely run a half size small. These are very light and have amazing support which I need for my plantar fasciitis. I am very happy to find a brand that I can wear all day without my feet hurting.

Finally got relief from plantar fasciitis

I have been suffering from severe plantar fasciitis for about 5-6 months and I have been trying all different types of shoes (zero drop/barefoot, different styles of Taos, etc), with no relief. I bought the Taos Advance and my feet felt better while wearing them at least but still hurt terribly once I took them off. Then I tried Direction and instant relief both while wearing and after they come off! It’s because of the soft shell heel, it’s not squeezing my heel and aggravating the PF. These are also not as heavy and stiff as the Advance, the Direction are lightweight and so comfortable but still very supportive. I will be getting more of these.

Taos does it again!

I love the unique look of these shoes. Even though they are orthotic adaptable, the arch support is so good that I don’t need my orthotics.

Pain Free Walking!

I ordered these shoes because I have a lot of foot pain and I was so impressed with the Z Soul sneakers and the Gift 2 sandals I purchased. I wore the Z Souls on a very active, 2 week trip through Scotland and Ireland and had zero pain. Plus they're super cute! That prompted me to buy the sandals, which have also been very comfortable and easy style for all my summer outfits. I purchased the Direction shoes to replace my Altra walking shoes, which were killing my feet. The first pair was defective (the right shoe was visibly narrower through the toe) so I returned them for a replacement. The second pair is still a little tighter on the right toe, but much more comfortable. The returns process was very quick and easy. I size up a half size on all Taos shoes.

Feet in a new Direction

I have a narrow foot and these sneakers fit perfect. since I have a super high arch, I needed to switch out the footbed with the Taos sneaker beds for more arch support. Super happy with my purchase.

So comfy!

I have difficult feet to fit and need major arch support. These are great walking shoes! They are lightweight and super comfy. I haven't worn them on long walks yet, but for standing on my feet for hours or running errands, they are wonderful. I love them!

Great shoes! But nothing is perfect....

These shoes are great! Though, everything have has it's pros and cons, so in the interest of being helpful, here's my notes: - Weight - these shoes are not the lightest....the footbed is very comfortable, but is very firm. These are not cushy squishy cloud soles - they're firm and supportive - even after hours of wear. This makes them really comfortable, but the firm sole is on the heavier side. These would be the shoes you wear on the plane, not put in your carry on.... - Heel design - Another feature that makes these shoes so comfortable is the heel cup - it's soft, almost fabric, so it would be near impossible for these shoes to give you blisters - even straight out of the box (this is also the feature that allows you to wear these like slip ons) but, this does make these shoes a bit harder to get on and off. You really have to sit down and lace the shoes up to get them on with the heel cup in place. But once you're all laced up, you're ready to be stylin' and comfy all day long!

Taos is a great brand

This is my second of pair of Taos. I specifically bought these for working and standing 8 hour shifts. They have made a huge difference. My body was not as tired because I have these shoes. They help relieve plantar fasciitis flair ups. I want to try the shoe inserts next! Recommend this company!

Love the versatility

I purchased this shoe on a whim because it was on sale. I wear a 6 1/2 medium and I find this shoe true to size. I have a slim foot with a high arch and this shoe gives me great support. This a very classy sneaker! I love the versatility of wearing it as a slide or with the back up. My husband told me it was a very feminine shoe, not large and bulky at all. I’m glad I took a chance and I may be ordering more in the future.

I need these in every color.

I am insanely happy with these shoes! Stylish, light weight, breathable and they have amazing shock absorption! I wore these on a recent trip to Rome/Florence where all streets are paved with cobblestone and the temps were near 100. Only thing I did was replace the insole with mine for high arch and metatarsal support. LOVE LOVE LOVE!

I’m really picky with shoes

I’m really picky with shoes due to tendinitis in my foot, high arch and lower back issues. These shoes feel great and I can be on my feet all day with them. I’ve also gotten comments on how nice they look with the color combination. My heels feel supported too.

Lightweight, Supportive, orthotics fit inside

Very happy with the Direction shoe! My orthotics fit well inside. I wear these during PT and also just around town. Could be a little wider in the toe box but otherwise great.

Great sneaker

This sneaker has an orthotic arch, that is comfortable and supportive, very lightweight!! Like them a lot!!

Perfect Safari Sneakers

Loved these as my main daily sneakers on my recent trip to Africa. Rubber over the toe and dense nylon material was relatively water and dust-proof. These got very dusty but my feet stayed clean inside. Easy to scrub off later. The fold-in heel was ideal for the plane trip, and walking around our lodges and camp sites. The ground was too dirty and uneven for sandals or flip flops but it is often necessary to quickly slide into shoes. The colors were great to go with my safari clothes as well. I also brought proper hiking shoes for jungle hikes, but these sneakers were perfect for general walking and a bike ride. I love the supportive sole of Taos sneakers which is firm and not too squishy or flexible, preventing pain in my middle-aged feet. The arch support is perfect for me.

perfect travel shoe

Not only is the Direction shoe cute, but they were comfortable from day one. They hold your foot snug and with great support for all day walking. I bought them for a trip abroad and I was so happy to have them. I could walk several miles a day and have no foot fatigue. The extra bonus was I didnt need to bring slip ons for the hotel room. The heel on these can collapse and you can slide your foot right in 😊 I have the Olive/Stone Multi color and they went with everything.

stylish athletic shoes

I ordered these shoes because I had been looking for a cute pair of white athletic shoes that had good arch support. Everything about them was great except the back of the shoe where your heel slides in. It is very thin and bendable compared with most athletic shoes and therefore is a little loose-fitting in the heel. I did still decide to keep them and will wear them more for everyday and not a workout shoe. I would order a half size up.

I found Taos sneakers late in my plantar fasciitis journey. After spending hundreds (if not thousands of dollars) to fix it, these shoes have been the answer! I feel like I gained back some of my freedom!

Great shoes and slippers

These were a Christmas gift for my daughter who has some foot issues, plantar fasciitis. She picked them and loves them. I was gifted a pair of slippers I love.

Cute and comfortable.

Love the raggedly edging on the heel. I have neuropathy in both feet and after standing a major part of the day my feet do not feel horrible like they usually do. Very cute and comfortable. However I think they must run small. They were on sale and only had a 9 1/2, which I use to be an 8 1/2 and lately a 9. Took the 9 1/2 and they don’t feel too big at all

Extremely comfortable and lightweight!

This is my second pair of Taos and I am sold for life! I have an extremely high arch and the Taos brand makes my feet feel the best they ever had. This style is fun and flirty and the mesh on the top and sides makes them even more comfortable for summer due to the breathability. Worth every penny!

So comfy

I love these shoes! I bought them because the shoes I had were hurting my feet. I have a hard time finding comfortable shoes. I have high arches and most shoes don't cut it. Not only are these comfortable they are super cute! I will definitely buy more from this company 😊

Perfect summer support shoe

It's getting a little cold out, so I think these will be better in the summer. However, these shoes are wonderful. They provide support so my feet don't ache, arch support, and do not further irritate my neuropathy.

Stood the test, once size adjusted

I wear an 8.5 in the moc star, but had to size up to 9 in these. These were cool and comfortable and withstood a lot of walking around Prague. They still look great after a lot of miles! I don't often like to wear shoes without socks (sensitive skin and my feet itch), but I found these to be quite comfortable and the mesh was great for breathable feet in hot temps. Taos arch support is a must for me. My only catch is I wish they had a little more cushion in the heal.

Good for causal wear

I bought these shoes for the arch support and for days when I do a lot of walking. They have taken a couple weeks to adjust to and for the most part, I can wear them all day to work and for some additional walking afterward. By the end of the day, however, I feel some discomfort on the outside of my foot. I have decided to keep them since I can generally wear them everyday without issue.

Good shoe, requires socks for comfort

Super cute, fit well on my narrow feet, good support. One con to the comfort/design…I do wish they incorporated a thin padded lining on the inside top, toe area since the fabric is rigid and gives me blisters on my pinky toes. Must wear socks with these unfortunately.

Torn lateral ligaments

Recovering from torn lateral ligaments of the foot. Other brands were recommended but my Physical therapist advised firm footbed with good arch support for comfort and balance. These fit the bill! No need to give up style for comfort with these. Thank you again Taos.

Got Me Through the Third Trimester

I am writing this review after owning the shoes for over a year now. I initially bought the shoes because I was having foot pain with pregnancy. These shoes eliminated that pain almost entirely. I struggled to find another pair that helped as much as these shoes did so I wore these shoes every day from February until May. I truly mean every day, all day. I made them work with every outfit. After giving birth, my foot issues resolved and I put these shoes into the back of my closet. I just recently pulled them back out and realized they are just all around great shoes that I will continue wearing. They're cute and oh so comfy.

Love these shoes, my 3rd

Love these shoes, my 3rd pair of Taos. These are the only brand of shoes I’ve found for my flat feet, they keep my foot from dropping and have great support. Plus, they are super cute and last a long time!

At first I wasn’t quite

At first I wasn’t quite sure if I liked these shoes…I’m used to leather sneakers but I love these. Bought them for a trip Europe and walked and walked and they were great! No sore feet!

Wonderful support for a stylish shoe

I really like these shoes. They have great arch support and side support for fallen arches. I really like how stylish they are, not just your average sneaker. My only complaint is this: why do shoemakers stop at size 10 with no 10. 5? The 10 is snug, which I'll keep since no returns for this design, but an 11 would be like flippers on me. Half sizes are offered all the way up to a 10 and then jumps to a size 11. Some of us are a true size 10. 5 & can use that size offered. It seems that so many shoemakers are doing this. That is my only complaint for an otherwise great shoe. I found this also the case with the Taos white sneaker "Plim Soul" which look like boats on my feet and are too long.

This shoe is extremely comfortable

This shoe is extremely comfortable from the first wearing. The arch is supportive, took a little getting used to. I have to wear a little thicker sock with this shoe and to my eye it appears a bit wider than I'm used to wearing. I've gotten lots of compliments and they look great with jeans or black pants. Would also pair well with tan, beige or brown.

These shoes are so comfortable

These shoes are so comfortable they began to feel like bedroom slippers! I love them. They are lightweight and not too confining. The sole is very supportive and I haven't worn them all day yet (saving them for vacation), but I know they are going to be perfect when worn for long days with much walking around!

Stylish support

Love the stylish look of these sneakers - AND the great arch support. I broke them in on a marathon IKEA shopping trip, and even those concrete floors were no match for them. The color blocking is sharp - even the ends of the shoelaces match the color scheme! Very pleased with my purchase.

Very pleased.

I have worn TAOS sandals for years but never purchased any of the closed in shoes. Very happy with these and they should be perfect for an European trip, with cobblestones and slippery surfaces. Good length, width and arch support. Appear very well made as other TAOS products.

Comfort and style!

This is my 3rd pair of Taos and these are fantastic for walking the halls to see patients everyday. No break-in period! Just comfort and style. Keeps my feet in comfort all day! The style is great and the colors are just vibrant enough for me! Buy these, you won’t be sorry!

Love them!

Love these! The color is very neutral, goes with everything, and doesn't show dirt. They are super comfortable with the heel up or down. They don't rub anywhere. Like wearing nothing at all but with arch support!
