NOT A 5 STAR, BUT A 10 STAR!!!

I just bought Universe for the first time yesterday in black leather. As I have mentioned in other reviews of Taos shoes I have purchased in the past, I have severe foot problems with arthritis in my feet and knees, fallen arches, and toe problems. I am sooo delighted to find these shoes. They fit great, and feel good for walking. The only other sandal I can stand on my feet are from Taos, and otherwise, again, have to wear my walking shoes with custom orthotics even for casual/dressy occasions. I used to dread going places other than the grocery store because I knew I was in for a night of pain. I need to mention that these shoes are totally adjustable and that adds to the comfort as the day goes along. Another important factor I always have to consider is where the strap falls across my little toes. The straps on these shoes are perfectly placed and very wide so my toes don't get caught uncomfortably. The style of the Universe are so cute and look great with dresses, shorts or jeans. A wonderful, attractive style with all the benefits of comfort. I will probably be purchasing the woven style similar to Universe just as soon as my budget allows!!

Flattering and comfortable

These sandals are comfortable right out of the box, adjustable straps make for a custom fit. The footbed has good support for my high arch. I can wear them all day with no discomfort. The diagonal strap across the instep flatters my wide large foot. And I love the soft green, tending toward light olive, but a nice neutral. I have worn Taos for years, for traveling and working; they are the best I’ve found for my difficult to fit feet.

Perfect fit, great support, super

Perfect fit, great support, super comfy right out of the box. The only reason I rate 4 stars is the price. They’re way too spendy. I love Taos shoes. I don’t have to wear my orthotics because they provide excellent arch support. Buying these sandals was an indulgence. I bought them because I wanted a specific blue color and was willing to pay the price.

I have foot problems (plantar fasciitis) and these shoes are so comfortable! Even my doctor thinks they offer wonderful support.

My Second Pair... Just Loving These!

Instant comfort and support, from the moment I put them on. I have a high instep and plantar fasciitis, so I have to be very choosy about what brands of shoes and sandals I wear, but now that I’ve found Taos, I’m set for a lifetime of comfort, not to mention style! The snappy red of the leather on these sandals really pops! This is my second pair of Universe sandals... I started with the navy blue ones, which felt so good and wore so well that when I needed red ones, I just bought another pair. The price makes these an investment, for sure... but one that will pay off in years of comfortable wear. It’s nice to have Taos with me as I walk the road of Life!

Love these!

These are very, very comfortable (and I have plantar fasciitis and a toe issue requiring arch support and a rocker-shaped sole that’s sturdy) and go with almost anything.

Great for travel

I purchased these shoes last summer for a trip that involved sight seeing and walking in heat. They did not disappoint so I brought them on vacation again this year and they\\re still performing beautifully. I tried on several comfort sandal brands and products and these had the softest leather and most comfortable feel. I have flat feet so to find a comfortable sandal that I could wear for several hours is an amazing thing.

Fantastic Sandal

Very comfortable for all day and walking. Usually wear orthotics; don’t miss them at all with this sandal. Great arch support and comfortable footbed.

Love this sandal style -I currently have 4 pairs in different colors! I have problematic feet (bunions plantar fasciitis etc) and these are supremely comfortable

Love these shoes!

I have plantar fasciitis and I can only wear shoes with good support but I’m still looking for style. These sandals are perfect, supportive so they don’t hurt my feet, cute to wear with capris or dresses. I can’t wait for the weather to warm up to start taking them out for a spin

Great support and fashionable sandle

I have high arches a Achilles repair on one foot and a fracture on the other. These Sandel's are a answer to my feet. I have them in every color except Navy. I have no foot pain and can walk miles or all day. Recommend highly.

Beautiful and comfortable

Love this pair of Taos sandals. I got plantar fasciitis right before our Italy trip and needed a pair of shoes with extra heel support.

My best “go to” sandal.

These are my all out “go to” sandal. I do a lot of aerobic dance and Zumba and am facing foot surgery. Living in SoCal, I am able to wear sandals throughout most of the year, which is why I currently own seven pairs of these. The leather is smooth and the footbed very comfortable. Being adjustable, helps when my foot conditions bother me. The crisscross straps look attractive and seem to slim the foot. They look good with nice sundresses , shorts and pants. If I were traveling overseas, these would be my pick for walking. I wish they were in more colors. These are well worth the cost.

Great arch support for people with high arches. These are the most comfortable sandals I own.

The most amazing sandals!

I bought these for a trip to Paris because I knew I\\d be walking a lot and wanted comfort. I gulped when I saw the price but knew that you get what you pay for. I cannot say enough good things about them. I walked an average of 6 miles a day on my trip and my feet felt wonderful! Amazing arch support. Cushiony sole. Adjustable straps that adapt to how feet tend to swell in the heat and throughout the day. I wore them with pants skirts and dresses and they always looked cute. I\\ve never worn a sandal that was nearly as comfortable. I highly recommend them and would buy them again in a heartbeat.

Walking on Air

I purchased these shoes in camel for a two-week vacation where I was doing a lot of walking. They were perfect! Extremely comfortable arch support, straps like butter, and a well-cushioned sole. I'm a size 6.5, slightly wide foot, without much of an arch. Just wish I could also get this look in a lower heel with the same kind of comfort.

Very comfortable shoes right from

Very comfortable shoes right from the start. Good arch support. Well made all around. Gave 4 stars instead of 5 because is quite wide. I am between a narrow and medium width. Would purchase more of this brand shoes if came in a narrower width.

Great quality of materials and arch support

I wore my shoes all day straight out of the box and they were totally comfortable. The leather and footbed materials are the best and the arch support is excellent. The leather colors are beautiful and are true to their appearance online.

My first pair were too

My first pair were too short, which surprised me. So I returned them and went the next size up. Now they are perfect! I do not have flat feet, but need extra arch support. I have many pairs of Taps sandals, and won't wear any others, as their footbed shape and amount of arch support is always the same....no guess work!

This is the second pair

This is the second pair of Taos Universe sandals I have bought. They are comfortable, have excellent arch support, and are adjustable with room for my bunions. AND they are stylish. I’ve worn them for 2 summers, and they haven’t worn out yet. I bought a second pair because I wanted another color.

Just so comfortable

I love these. This is my second pair. I have bunions and painful feet and these are my absolute favorite shoes. So thankful for Taos and the design. I do have wide feet as well and ordered them in wide. They fit perfectly and support my arches.

I have 3 other sandals like these and love how they look and feel - great arch support and don’t hurt my bunion! 1st time for all leather in this style.

Love these sandals so much that I just bought my second pair!

I bought my first pair of these sandals three years ago. I was looking for a sandal that was comfortable, stylish, and, most importantly, was sturdy and had good arch support (I had recently recovered from a broken foot and need to wear supportive shoes). I love these sandals and wore them often during the summer in each of the three years. The black leather goes with most of my wardrobe. They are now looking a little worn, but are holding up well and have lots of wear left in them. I just bought my second pair-the exact same sandal & color for dressier occasions and expect to enjoy years of wear with these as well!

Great shoes! Just need a size 43.

Great shoes! Leather uppers! Adjustable for a custom fit! All day comfort with good arch support. I have them in the stone color as well as the camel. Even though they are wearable in the size 42, I just wish they came in a size 43. Please, please consider making all of your shoes and boots in a size 43. One star deducted because Universe is not available in size 43.

So comfy!

Exactly what I wanted. So far, I have only tried them around the house, but the arch support feels very good, and the leather is so soft. I have hallux rigidus, and I read in an online review article that these particular sandals were good for that. I will let you know if that is true after the summer of a lot of walking!

Most wonderful shoes. Absolutely first

Most wonderful shoes. Absolutely first rate materials and constructions. I need wide shoes with really good arch support, and the two pairs that I ordered are so well designed that they look great and have wonderful arch support. I wore mine all day straight out of the box and they were totally comfortable.

A terrific sandal!

I have 4 pair of these sandals. l have no arch support and these sandals provide that. I also have a narrow foot and pain in one foot. The adjustable straps allow the shoe to fit perfectly and no pain when i wear them. Lots of color choices.

great for high arches

From the moment I put these on theyve felt great. Very comfortable lightweight and stylish too. I have plantar fascitis and these molded quickly to my high arches.

These are amazing!! I have posterior tibial tendon disfunction and have to wear Spenco Total Support Max orthotics. These sandals give me the same support and the wide heel helps prevent pronation too! So happy to have found sandals that I can wear all day!

Great sandals with excellent arch

Great sandals with excellent arch support, comfort, style and the placement of straps accommodates those with bunion issues. This is my 4th pair of Täōs. Love these sandals/sneakers, will always have 1 or 2 Täōs sandals or shoes in my closet!

Comfortable AND Stylish!

I've owned this pair for over two years, and they are still as comfortable and new looking as day one! There was no break-in period, which is always a bonus with any shoe. It is really stylish, goes really well with most of my summer outfits, and I have gotten many compliments on the color. For reference, I have wide feet, and did not have to get the wide option for these sandals. The footbed is more comfortable than Birkenstocks. The adjustable straps are priceless! Since buying these, I have sent two other friends to local stores to purchase the Universe.

This is the 3rd pair

This is the 3rd pair I have bought. They are extremely comfortable. I wear them for travel when we are doing a lot of walking and find they give me perfect support while not having to wear a closed walking shoe and socks which I really hate specially in warm weather.

Great sandal with adjustable strap

This is my 4th Taos (from boots, sneakers and sandals) and always a comfortable fit with great arch support. My feet are ultra thin; most sandals don't work for me. These adjustable sandals width are perfect!

Comfortable fit, but cloppy like a large horse

(The Rating stars were glitching, and I could not select 3 stars) I purchased my Taos sandals at Synnergy, a retail store in Northampton, Ma. I do a lot of walking in fairer weather and need something that provides support and give for my bunions while looking fashionable. Unfortunately, the grey version of these sandals sounds like I am wearing wooden clogs everywhere I go indoors. Clop! Clop! Clop! It is the WORST feature of any sandals I have ever purchased. Even my flip-flops make less noise. High heels, less noise. Tap shoes? Too close to call. I spent a lot of money on these shoes and have a lot of regret because I can't wear them anywhere without sounding like a parading horse.

Best, most comfortable sandals I’ve

Best, most comfortable sandals I’ve ever worn! I have bunions and love that they come in wide. Also, very perspiration resistant so soles of my feet stay cool and dry in the hot weather. I’ve purchased both the camel and navy in the past six months and just love them. Pricey but more than worth it!!! Almost the only shoes I’ve worn this summer other than running shoes.

Good...

I bought the sandals having a high expectation of foot support. and comfort as my older sandals..Unfortunately the new style is different. They don’t have the same arch and metatarsal support as before. They also seams to be more narrow . Generally I love Taos sandals , the quality of leather , cushiony sole and lining are great .....But as a long time costumer I see the difference ...

Love Taos Sandals

I love Taos sandals! I have a few pairs of Trulie, but thought these look a little dressier and would last longer being leather. They look great and are very comfortable. Will save up to get the tan hopefully later this summer! They go with everything! I pronate and I have to have really good arch support. Taos does not disappoint!

Style and Support

This sandal fit comfortably right out of the box. The green color is surprisingly neutral. Nice to have just a slight wedge, not a crazy high heel. Heel is nicely cradled and arch support is excellent. I wear a 7 in a sandal, a 7 1/2 in closed toe, and 8 in athletic shoes. The 7 fit perfectly.

GREAT SHOES.

The shoes are wonderful. I have lots of trouble with my back. When I put TAOS shoes on I could not believe it. Wore them all day long without a pain. I told my husband I hated to put them on to do housework , but I was tempted. So comfortable and the arch support was fabulous. Great shoes.

So comfortable and supportive

These have become my favorite pair of Taos sandals (I have many) I bought the navy. The leather is just beautiful. They were perfect right out of the box on a 3 mile walk. They are the most comfortable and supportive sandals. Did I mention they are just beautiful?

Please make more shoes with this heel height for those with flat feet, who need arch supports but also the exact height of the Universe shoe for complete comfort. Hope to find more choices with this heel height on Taos shoes in the future, so that I can buy more.
