These boots are incredible. I have custom orthotics, but this footbed is so supportive that I don’t even need my orthotics. I have multiple foot issues—bunions, hammertoes, ligament laxity, flat feet, and LLD. Even with all that, the support in the Crave boot is more effective for me than custom orthotics. Sometimes, because of these issues in the toe box area of my feet, I need a wide width, but the regular width with the Crave boot is more than sufficient for me. Moreover, they are stunning, with whisper soft leather and dreamy lining. I just ordered the tall Crave in RED!

Perfect!

comfort & style for the girl with orthotics

I was very pleased with these boots. I am a difficult fit because I wear custom orthotics for plantar fasciitis and while many boots' insoles are removable, sometimes that's just not enough. My orthotics fit nicely, the heels don't slip (a frequent problem), and their stylish and beautifully made. Very happy. Will likely be back very soon for something to wear in the spring/summer months!

Perfect

I paid full price for these red Crave style boots. I hate paying full price for anything but knew I could return them if I didn’t love them. Well I can’t say enough about how much they are totally worth every penny. First of all the quality is such that they will long outlive me. They are beautiful. The red is not a bright red, but a deep red. The heel is a rubber like substance that resembles wood so they are sooo comfortable. I have plantar fasciitis and neuropathy in my feet so there are very few shoe brands that feel comfortable and that I can actually wear all day. They are very practical and stylish and I get compliments every time I wear them. But most importantly to me is the comfort. Love that they have a zipper too so I don’t have to fool with the laces. I wear a size 9, occasionally a size 9 1/2 if it’s a boot and the size 40 is perfect.

Comfortable for all day!

These boots fit amazingly right out of the box. Between having intermittent foot pain from a previous break and now dealing with plantar fasciitis, I can wear these all day long with zero problems. I’m a little concerned because it seems part of the heel is peeling, and I’ve bly had these about 2 weeks. For the money that is concerning, but I am watching to see if it continues or if it’s some sort of break-in going on. Otherwise, these are perfect!

These are the BEST boots I have ever owned!

I admittedly have 4 pairs of these in different colors. They are without a doubt, the most comfortable boots I have ever had. They are amazing quality, long lasting (I just polish mine up once a year) and I can wear them all day long - and I work on my feet running around up and down stairs, etc. I have a high arch and a bunion and these boots are comfortable right out of the box. LOVE THEM!

Perfect boot

I have plantar fasciitis, peripheral neuropathy & hammer toes, so finding comfortable shoes is a challenge. I wore these to work right out of the box, no break in period! They look great & I had many complements!

Fantastic boots!

I’ve only worn them twice, and I already know I’m going to buy a second pair. Like so many other reviews say they are comfy right out of the box. I’ll come back and update this review after I put them to an all day on my feet test. I have a bunion, wide feet, and arthritis.

Fun , Comfortable and Stylish, a trifecta!

This was my first purchase of the Crave boot. I love these boots, they are comfortable, fun, and look great with jeans and many of my skirts and dresses. I am a hairstylist and having comfortable and supportive shoes to work in is very important. The arch isn't quite high enough for my very high arches however they are more supportive than most of my boots. They are sturdy for hiking and standing, walking etc. The red has a bit of brown in it, I like color so I would like more red! The teal colored boots will be my next purchase. I don't have any foot conditions, however standing for hours while working requires a well made shoe.

Gorgeous Boots -- Great Fit and Craftmanship!

I'm very picky about footwear as I've had issues with plantar fasciitis and I have to make sure I have the proper support and fit. I kept looking at these boots and after reading the feedback decided to buy a pair. They aren't cheap, but I've found out the hard way that spending a little more for great boots or shoes is worth it in the end. These are well made, have removable insoles, and fit comfortably with the first try-on. I didn't need to break them in; I wore them to work all day and they were pretty comfortable. I liked the first pair so much, I've just ordered a second pair. I keep eyeballing the red ones, too, as they are just gorgeous! Highly recommend these boots!

Happy Teacher Feet

I bought these because of a video I saw of a lady that said she wore them on her trip to London and only wore these the whole time. These are definitely all that she said they are. I have plantar fasciitis and these have not made it flare up one time. I’m a teacher so I am on my feet all day long. Love these and highly recommend, they are gorgeous!!

Thank you Taos

I love these boots. I could wear them everyday. I have plantar fasciitis and these are great. It’s hard to find a functional and fashionable shoe. From the first day of wear, at the office all day, there was never a “breaking in” period. They were comfortable right out of the box. Thank you, Taos!

Instantly comfortable

This is the 2nd pair of boots I purchased from Taos. I’m extremely pleased with the comfort and quality. They are well constructed , with great support. After dealing with heel pain for months, since switching to Taos boots and slippers, my foot pain is gone.

Excellent boots!

This is my second pair of Crave boots- the color is fantastic! They fit very well, have good arch support, and are quite comfortable right out of the box overall. If you are not used to a firm foot bed/arch support, they may take a bit of getting used to, but they are well worth it. I did have a small area of irritation on my heel with this pair, but a little moleskin helped with that. I got my first pair due to horrible plantar fascitis, and they helped tremendously. I currently have some knee and hip issues, and these are providing good stability. I am a physical therapist, and I cannot stress enough the importance of good footwear!!

A solid, well made, comfortable boot. Excellent quality leather. As reference, I have wide feet, high arches, and live in NYC, so on my feet all day.

Crave Lace-Up Boots = Pure Perfection!

I’ve been searching forever for a great pair of lace-up boots and finally settled on the Crave boots in black. I’m very particular about what I want and these boots checked all the blocks. Beautiful, high quality leather, stylish details and most importantly. they are so comfortable! The block heel is the perfect height and provides excellent stability. They are very well constructed too. The way these boots “hug” your feet is amazing. The entire inside is soft against your feet. They have great arch support and the footbed is soft and so comfortable. The zipper makes it easy to slip into these boots and you won’t have to keep adjusting the shoe laces every time you wear them. These boots are pricey and I hesitated on purchasing them for that reason, but I’m so glad I did. They are definitely high quality and I’m confident I’ll get years of wear out of these. I think they’ll get even better with age and some wear. I’m already contemplating ordering the new dark brown color too. If you’re on the fence about purchasing these boots, I’m here to say you won’t be disappointed! I ordered my usual size 8 1/2 M (or 39) and found them to be are true to size.

Great shoe

These are GREAT boots! I usually wear a size 8 1/2, so I got a size 40 so that I could make sure my orthotics fit. They are perfect. I have plantar fasciitis, but they have been comfortable both with my orthotics and with the Taos insert. They can go dressy or causal and feel sipper durable.

These boots are amazing!!!

I bought my first pair a year ago, after I learned I needed orthotic inserts. I went to over a dozen shoe stores trying on several other brands with no luck, ordered several pair on Amazon that were great I didn’t work with my orthotics & had to send them back. My orthopedic surgeon suggested I looked at Taos I tried on a pair of Taos Crave in Mast Shoe store and fell in love with them. They allowed for my inserts thanks to the removable insoles. They were $250 and worth every single penny. I’ve worn them for 18 months and still look like brand new, but actually felt broken in the first day I put them on my feet. They are extremely comfortable. I get so many compliments on how stylish they are also. I had been watching for them to go on sale to pick up another pair, I was lucky enough to get the second pair for almost $100 off on the Taos site directly. These are my absolute favorite brand of boots I’ve ever owned, I’m in my 50s and have been through hundreds of pairs of boots.

Best Boots Ever!

All the positive reviews are true! These are the best boots ever. Not only are they very well made with excellent craftsmanship, but they are so attractive, versatile, and comfortable! I have rather problematic feet with some neuropathy - I can't wear a shoe with a high heel. These are absolutely perfect! I am 5'10" tall and wear a size 11 shoe. I got the Crave boot in size 42 (11-11 1/2), regular width. I thought for sure I would need a style that came in a wide width, but these fit perfectly. They also have arch & metatarsal support. I'm not sure about the care, if I need to put a leather polish on to resist the rain, but I just love these. I wish I could afford 3 pair in different colors! Thank you Taos Footwear!

Crave - Love

I have been looking at this boot for a while but really wanted to try them on. I recently traveled and finally ran across the crave boots to try on. It was love at first fit and sight. The boots are super cute and very comfortable. I wore them during my airport travels, they were fantastic, very supportive and comfortable. I have been struggling to find a good shoe for my feet, I have plantar fasciitis and heal pain. The boots were a dream at the airport, I was in total comfort and my feet felt great, no pain and the zipper going through security was a breeze. I will be purchasing another pair, thank you Taos.

Highest quality boots!

This is my 3rd pair of Craves! I have funky feet (on the wide side with bunions) and these boots are a dream! I tried a pair last year and after wearing them bought them in 2 other colors this year. I can even wear them in place of my sneakers for long, fast walks. The craftsmanship, comfort and coloration are all exceptional!!!

My favorite all time boots

I absolutely Love my Classic Red boots! The quality is second to none and the leather is soft enough to wear them all day straight out of the box. There’s plenty of arch support for my feet and the cushioning is just right. My feet get hot easily, which makes me overheat. I was concerned that i might get overheated with the higher boot but they breathe enough to keep me comfortable. These boots are perfect for daily wear as well as when riding on the motorcycle with my husband.

Beautifully Made Boot!

Well crafted, good looking, comfortable, sturdy and supportive boot for walking and hiking as well as everyday adventures. This boot looks great with skirts, skinny jeans, wide leg pants, and long dresses. The cushioning in this boot makes it perfect for long walks in NYC! I bought EU size 43 Medium and they fit perfectly.

Love the comfort

I have worn a pair of these for a few years now. I really love the comfort. They’re good for walking in all day long. Great arch support. Super stylish. I get compliments on them all the time. The one thing I don’t like is that they squeak when you walk. If they could fix that, they would be perfect.

THE BEST-MADE FOOTWEAR

I have never been disappointed with anything I've purchased from Taos-- and I have sandals, sneakers. . . and these amazing boots. I have several foot issues, including neuroma in both feet, a bunion, and a couple of hammer toes. These boots are so comfortable that I wore them an entire day walking around all of Palermo. They are more comfortable than my running sneakers-- seriously! Please, please do not discontinue the Crave boots-- I will definitely be purchasing one or two other colors for the next cold season. AND, they are beautiful, I get lots of compliments not just on these boots, but all my Taos shoes!

Super Comfy Boot

These boots are amazing! I’ve never had such a comfy boot. The quality is incredible, and they are so stylish. I’ve had trouble finding shoes that don’t hurt my bunion on my left foot. These boots don’t hurt it at all. Usually, there is a break-in period where I can wear shoes for a few hours at a time for several weeks, and then I can wear them more regularly. These boots I was able to wear immediately and all day. I took them with me to Colorado and wore them as my only shoes for a week. I was very comfortable in them. I will be ordering more shoes from here in the future.

Style and comfort, even for wide feet.

This is my 2nd of Crave boots. I love the roomy toe bed. They are non- slip. Easy to get on and off with the side zipper. I got wide, which is so hard to find in a boot. On the 3rd day I had them I went to NYC and walked around Broadway/Times Square for 2 days. No sore feet or pinched toes. Lots of support. Finally a teal leather boot that I don’t have to break-in!!!

Cute Boot

I really love the look of these boots. They are really cute and mostly comfortable. I've worn them a few times now almost all day teaching. I have high arches and they give me good support, but there is also support where my arch isn't high, so it feels a little weird. It's not painful just noticeable. I will continue to wear these with leggings all winter long!

MY boots, in red and in black.

Crave is the Valhalla of ankle boots. The arch support is second to none, and the toe box is roomy enough for bunions and hammertoes. I’m glad I shelled out to get this level of quality. Like most Taos footwear, they run a little short in the toes, so I sized up to a 40 for my. 8.5 feet: perfect.

Great boot, arch support way too much.

I purchased the red crave. Absolutely beautiful. Fine craftsmanship and quality leather. The arch support was too high for me and I have high arches normally. Once I took out the supports and added my own, the boot fit like a glove and is wearing in nicely.

Exactly what I was looking for

I love these boots! For me, it’s hard to find the right mix of quality, style, height and comfort, but these check all the boxes for a casual yet attractive boot for everyday use in fall/winter. They fit great right out of the box, and the leather and stitching are high quality and seemingly durable. The overall height of the boot is exactly what I was looking for, and I love the zipper for quickly and easily running out the door.

I have wanted these boots

I have wanted these boots for a while and when I saw they were on sale- I took a chance. I’m so glad I did! They are super comfortable, I wore them right out of the box. No problems, no break in time, nothing but comfort! Arch support is wonderful.

Winter boots

I have been searching for boots with a 'grippy' sole but didn't appear aggressive or chunky to wear in the winter. In the mountains of Colorado, the snow can make things a bit slippery. These boots are high enough to keep the snow out but feel secure enough when walking on snowy concrete. The red color isn't too bright and these go well with pants or dresses (even though I am not a fan of shorter boots with dresses but - snow). I did add waterproofing to the leather but I might not have needed to. The color didn't change, usually leather becomes darker with waterproofing, which made me think that the uppers were already treated. I have wide feet - thus the red color - with a bunion on my left foot. When first trying on these boots it concerned me that the bunion was a little uncomfortable. After wearing them multiple times the leather relaxed and the boots feel fine. These boots have gotten me multiple compliments, even from my 42-year-old daughter-in-law! For a 60+ woman that is high praise.

Comfy+Stylish, a bit uncomfy until broken in

I am not a person with strong shoe opinions, but I really like these boots. I originally bought them while putting together a specific outfit, but I have ended up wearing them with almost every outfit. Be warned: The arch support got painful after the first 1-2 hours of wear, especially because I had tight and sore feet at the time. However, with a few more hours of wear, the support is exactly how I need it. I tend to break in shoes fast, but also destroy them quickly too, so I hope these hold up!

Lovely boots

Rich dark red color, good arch support, orthotic friendly—what’s not to love? As usual with TAOs, I sized up to accomodate a moderate weight sock. I generally wear a 38 or 7. 5 m in shoes and sized up to 39. Otherwise they would have been too snug For any sock. Arch support is good bit even better with my hard, prescribed orthotic used along with the included support

MOST COMFORTABLE BOOT

I looked at these boots for over a year and decided to purchase them. I am very happy I did. The most comfortable boot I have owned and right out of the box. No break-in time, just extremely comfortable from the first time I put them on. I have bunions which always makes buying shoes difficult and these are perfect. I will be purchasing a different color.

Love these boots, wish there were more colors

These are the most comfortable boots I’ve ever owned. They are stylish enough for me to wear them with slacks, jeans, skirts and dresses. I have arthritis in my feet so it’s hard to find comfortable shoes that I can wear all day. The only problem I have with the boots is that I wish they came in brown and red.

Beautiful blue boots

This is my 4th pair of Crave boots, and a fun dark blue color. In some light, they look black. The contrast of the brown shoe strings against the blue is really cool. I am a size 8. 5, and ordered the 39. They are wearable right out of the box. I have high arches, and Taos boots always give me good support.

Great boots for work!

I work at a historic site, and needed something comfortable to wear while walking outside or standing up all day. I have high arches, so my feet often hurt after a long day. These were comfortable right from the get-go. Highly recommend for people with high arches.

Great red boots

My foot runs wide and a high arch. I have a hard time finding comfortable boots. I was thrilled to fine red boots and they fit perfectly. Thank you for making comfortable boots.

Crave vs Groupie

I love these boots! I had my eye on them for a while so I grabbed them when they went on sale and applied my points. Great craftsmanship and quality! I wore them out of the box for a work trip to Michigan in the winter and they were warm and comfortable right away (the only pair I brought). They were great for casual travel days and also worked with my pants and blazer. They are narrower than the Groupie (I bought them just before this pair went on sale). The Crave has a shine to it and a more polished look. The Groupie is very casual with a rustic treatment. If you want casual comfort, room for thick socks, and wiggle room in the toe, get the Groupie. Crave is a more snug fit. My California toes were a little constricted in the Crave, but my toes love their freedom from shoes. But again, these looked amazing and I have no regrets with the purchase! Except now I need a black pair…

Gorgeous boots

These boots are gorgeous. I bought the caramel in 41. I am a perfect 40W in Plim Soul Lux and Z Soul. They did not have 40W in these boots, so I ordered 41 and they fit great after walking around the house a bit. I thought they might be better if I had 40W, so I ordered a different color in 40W and they were the same width, but a bit short, still fit, but my toes were almost touching the front of the shoe and the arch support was not on the right place. I returned the 40W. I could not find them in the stores to see if 41W would have been even better, but I am happy with the 41, so I kept them.

Teal Taos regular width

I have red Taos is 7w and I love them . I prefer wide width for big toe comfort , but tried these in regular width as they were on sale . The arch support is in the wrong place . I was able to pull the inserts and substitute inserts from a different pair of boots . They are ok , good leather well stitched and dyed , perfect heal width . I wish you offered caramel and other colors in wide Taos . 🤷‍♀️

The best!

These are the most subtle and soft leather shoes I have had. It feels like I am putting on an extravagantly expensive pair of designer boots every time I wear these. They are hands down the most comfortable shoes I own! As with my other Taos, the arch support is phenomenal.

All day comfort

Bought these on sale with no return and was a bit worried, but these have turned out to be one of the most comfortable pair of boots I've ever owned! I have an extremely high instep and these give me the arch support that I have to have.

I crave these boots!

Out of the box, on my feet, and out the door for about six hours. Great fit and very comfortable all day! Offered good support. I love the color! It's not a bright red but a rich, deep one.

Loving my new boots!

Love my new boots! The fit is perfect. I had ordered the boots in wide width and the boots are so comfortable. The style of the boots is so cool. The arch support is perfect, too.
